Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors at The Foot Institute – Red Deer concentrate on the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. Our doctors devote about 10 years in learning, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd four years in Medical School to receive a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to usual medical school and in reality many podiatry programs lie inside these institutions. After getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional 1 to 3 years.

Upon the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have acquired significant health care instruction with an attention to on conditions regarding the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are trained to handle complications ranging from common conditions like fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are even more intricate including clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have considerable surgical instruction which give them the skill necessary to execute surgery on those problems that are ideally handled through surgical treatment.

Our Doctors furthermore have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs endure as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Knowing biomechanics and gait abnormalities enables a Podiatric physician to create footwear and orthotics which can give pain relief and reduce the chances of a large number of conditions which the feet regularly experience.
