Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical professionals at The Foot Institute – Red Deer provide services for the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. Foot Institute Doctors invest about 10 years in higher education, the first four years in undergrad studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles typical medical school and in reality several podiatry training programs are located inside these institutions. After securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for an additional one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Doctors have received comprehensive medical education with a main focus on problems involving the feet and ankles. They are skilled to handle complications ranging from conventional ailments for example, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are much more intricate for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have extensive surgical education which furnish them the experience needed to perform surgery on those troubles that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors additionally have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs endure as we walk, run or perform other activities. Realizing biomechanics and gait abnormalities allows a Podiatrist to design footwear and orthotics which can provide pain relief and prevent many problems which the feet normally encounter.
