Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical doctors at The Foot Institute – Red Deer specialize in the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. Foot Institute Podiatrists devote around a decade in higher education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the next 4 years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and in fact several podiatry training programs are located inside these academic institutions. Upon securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for yet another one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Doctors have received extensive medical training with an importance on problems concerning the feet and ankles. They are qualified to care for problems ranging from familiar conditions like ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are even more intricate for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have significant surgical instruction which furnish them the expertise essential to perform surgical treatment on those problems that are best treated through surgical treatment.

Doctors at the Foot Institute also have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Learning about biomechanics and gait irregularities facilitates a Foot doctor to create shoes and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and prevent countless issues which the feet frequently encounter.
