They devote an average of a decade in learning, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to typical medical school and in fact numerous podiatry training programs are contained within these institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for yet another one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have received wide-ranging health care training with an emphasis on difficulties involving the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are studied to treat difficulties stretching from basic ailments such as fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are even more puzzling like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have extensive surgical training which provide them the skill necessary to perform surgical treatment on those conditions that are best managed through surgical treatment.

Doctors at the Foot Institute also have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs go through as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait abnormalities allows a Podiatric doctor to design footwear and orthotics which can give pain relief and help prevent many conditions which the feet regularly encounter.
