Dr.’s at The Foot Institute – Red Deer focus on the surgical and medical therapy of the ankle and foot. They invest around ten years in education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the second four years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles traditional medical school and in point of fact many podiatry programmes are located inside these institutions. Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have gained considerable medical training with an attention to on concerns pertaining to the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are trained to address conditions ranging from familiar afflictions for instance ingrown and fungal toenails, to those which are far more intricate for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have considerable surgical education which give them the experience crucial to conduct surgical treatment on those troubles that are best managed through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors also have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet endure as we walk, run or perform other activities. Having knowledge of biomechanics and gait irregularities empowers a Podiatrist to design footwear and orthotics that can offer pain relief and reduce the chances of many complications which the feet regularly encounter.
