Podiatric Medical School corresponds to general medical school and in point of fact many podiatry training programs are located within these academic institutions. After getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 to 3 years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have received considerable medical instruction with an emphasis on difficulties regarding the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are taught to care for concerns varying from usual problems for instance fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are more complicated like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have comprehensive surgical instruction which give them the prior experience required to perform surgical treatment on those issues that are best handled through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors additionally have a thorough practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet go through as we walk, run or carry out other tasks. Knowing biomechanics and gait deviations allows a Podiatrist to create shoes and orthotics that can bestow pain relief and help prevent countless complications which the feet generally experience.
