Specialists here at The Foot Institute – Red Deer concentrate on the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. Foot Institute Podiatrists devote around ten years in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. At the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have received considerable health care training with a focus on problems regarding the feet and ankles. They are trained to care for complications extending from usual ailments like fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are even more complicated for instance, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have significant surgical training which give them the experience crucial to perform surgery on those issues that are ideally remedied through surgical treatment.

Our Doctors additionally have an extensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs endure as we walk, run or perform other activities. Learning about biomechanics and gait abnormalities makes it easy for a Podiatrist to create footwear and orthotics which can provide pain relief and avoid countless conditions which the feet frequently encounter.
