Our podiatrists put in approximately a decade in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to conventional medical school and actually various podiatry programmes are located inside these schools. After securing a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute carry out a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 to 3 years.

At the fulfillment of the internship or residency, our Doctors have received extensive medical training with a main focus on conditions regarding the feet and ankles. They are taught to treat problems varying from conventional conditions such as fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are more complex like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have extensive surgical training which furnish them the experience needed to perform surgical treatment on those complications that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Foot Institute Doctors also have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet receive as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Knowing biomechanics and gait irregularities makes it possible for a Podiatric doctor to design footwear and orthotics which can offer pain relief and minimize the risk of a large number of complications which the feet regularly encounter.
