Doctors at the Foot Institute furthermore have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet experience as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Learning about biomechanics and gait abnormalities permits a Podiatrist to design footwear and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and defend against countless complications which the feet routinely encounter.
