Foot Institute Doctors devote approximately ten years in learning, the first four years in undergraduate studies to obtain a Bachelors Degree, and the 2nd 4 years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to general medical school and in point of fact quite a number podiatry programmes are located within these institutions. After getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have obtained extensive health care training with a main focus on concerns involving the ankles and feet. Our Doctors are trained to treat conditions ranging from commonplace problems for instance ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are even more complicated like clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have thorough surgical training which furnish them the prior experience vital to execute surgery on those problems that are best handled through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors also have an extensive knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet withstand as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Recognizing biomechanics and gait peculiarities allows a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics which can provide pain relief and protect against numerous issues which the feet generally experience.
