Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Doctors at The Foot Institute – Red Deer provide services for the surgical and medical treatment of the ankle and foot. Our doctors invest an average of 10 years in education, the first four years in undergrad studies to secure a Bachelors Degree, and the next 4 years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to regular medical school and as a matter of fact several podiatry training programs are located within these institutions. After procuring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for yet another one to three years.

At the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have acquired considerable healthcare training with a concentration on concerns pertaining to the feet and ankles. They are taught to handle issues ranging from regular ailments like ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are much more challenging for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have extensive surgical training which supply them the experience needed to conduct surgery on those issues that are best handled through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors additionally have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet receive as we walk, run or perform other activities. Comprehending biomechanics and gait irregularities allows a Podiatrist to develop shoes and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and reduce the chances of countless problems which the feet generally experience.
