Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Podiatrists at The Foot Institute – Red Deer specialize in the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our podiatrists invest around 10 years in education, the first four years in undergrad studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the next 4 years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School resembles traditional medical school and in reality quite a number podiatry programs lie inside these schools. After procuring a Podiatric Medial Degree, Podiatrists at the Foot Institute complete a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for an additional one to three years.

Upon the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Podiatric doctors have obtained comprehensive health care training with an attention to on concerns concerning the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are taught to manage concerns extending from commonplace conditions such as fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are a lot more challenging such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have substantial surgical education which provide them the experience essential to carry out surgery on those complications that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors furthermore have a thorough expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet receive as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Understanding biomechanics and gait deviations allows a Podiatric physician to design shoes and orthotics which can deliver pain relief and help prevent numerous complications which the feet typically encounter.
