Specialists at The Foot Institute – Red Deer focus on the surgical and medical therapy of the foot and ankle. Our doctors devote about a decade in higher education, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to receive a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to attain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to traditional medical school and as a matter of fact a number of podiatry programmes are contained within these schools. After getting a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute finish a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 - 3 years.

At the completion of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have received wide-ranging medical instruction with an importance on issues involving the feet and ankles. Our Doctors are trained to manage problems ranging from familiar ailments for instance, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are much more challenging for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have comprehensive surgical instruction which furnish them the skill required to perform surgical treatment on those conditions that are best managed through surgical treatment.

Foot Institute Doctors furthermore have an extensive practical knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet submit to as we walk, run or perform other activities.
