Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Medical doctors at The Foot Institute – Red Deer provide services for the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. Our doctors spend about ten years in learning, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to achieve a Bachelors Degree, and the second 4 years in Medical School to have a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to standard medical school and actually various podiatry programmes lie inside these institutions. After receiving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for another one to three years.

Upon the completion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatrists have gained considerable health care education with a main focus on conditions regarding the feet and ankles. Foot Institute Doctors are qualified to treat difficulties varying from standard ailments for instance fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are even more sophisticated such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at the Foot Institute have thorough surgical education which provide them the expertise required to conduct surgery on those problems that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors likewise have a comprehensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet endure as we walk, run or perform other activities. Understanding biomechanics and gait peculiarities allows a Podiatrist to create footwear and orthotics which can bestow pain relief and defend against many troubles which the feet normally experience.
