Red Deer Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Dr.’s at The Foot Institute – Red Deer provide services for the medical and surgical therapy of the ankle and foot. Our podiatrists put in approximately 10 years in learning, the first 4 years in undergraduate studies to acquire a Bachelors Degree, and the next four years in Medical School to get a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School corresponds to regular medical school and various podiatry training programs are contained within these schools. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Physicians at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or residency for another 1 - 3 years.

Upon the completion of the internship or residency, our Podiatrists have received significant medical instruction with a main focus on difficulties regarding the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are studied to handle complications ranging from typical ailments for instance ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are far more perplexing for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have extensive surgical education which furnish them the experience vital to carry out surgical treatment on those troubles that are best treated through surgical intervention.

Our Doctors furthermore have a thorough knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet undergo as we walk, run or perform other activities. Knowing biomechanics and gait abnormalities enables a Podiatric physician to develop shoes and orthotics which can provide pain relief and defend against a large number of complications which the feet usually encounter.
