At the completion of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have acquired extensive health care training with a concentration on problems pertaining to the ankles and feet. They are trained to care for complications stretching from familiar disorders for instance, fungal and ingrown toe nails, to those which are more sophisticated for example, clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our Doctors have comprehensive surgical training which provide them the experience necessary to perform surgery on those troubles that are best managed through surgical intervention.
Doctors at the Foot Institute also have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the legs and feet withstand as we walk, run or perform other tasks. Knowing biomechanics and gait peculiarities permits a Podiatrist to design shoes and orthotics which can provide pain relief and prevent countless issues which the feet commonly experience.
