Medical doctors at The Foot Institute – Calgary Sunpark provide services for the medical and surgical treatment of the ankle and foot. They put in about a decade in higher education, the first four years in undergraduate studies to get a Bachelors Degree, and the following 4 years in Medical School to obtain a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and in fact various podiatry programs lie within these academic institutions. After obtaining a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute undertake a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for yet another 1 - 3 years.

At the conclusion of the internship or post degree residency, our Podiatric physicians have obtained comprehensive medical training with a concentration on conditions pertaining to the feet and ankles. They are trained to treat concerns stretching from general ailments for example, ingrown and fungal toe nails, to those which are a lot more puzzling for example clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Doctors at The Foot Institute have thorough surgical instruction which provide them the experience necessary to perform surgery on those troubles that are best treated through surgical intervention.
